Are democracy-loving muslims useful idiots for the US military?

I came across the following quote below. I hope when you read this kind of stuff from the US military that just because the military is arrogant enough to claim democracy is a "western idea," as though democracy is some sort of ideological colonization, that doesn't mean you have to get it wrong too. Popular democratic movements in Pakistan, Iraq and Palestine have resisted US coercion, and are causing a major pain in the ass right now for Prez Bush. Notice how the author identifies a pre-existing democratic milieu in Islam that shows democracy in formative stages and in practice long before the modern Western articulation arose, yet he calls democracy a "western idea." The author is suffering from a bout of "cognitive dissonance." The following comes from a recent report from the US Army:

Note: I found this at a website that has alot of interesting posts about the "war of ideas" with Jihadis and psychological and information warfare. Each post at this site is illustrated with an "art porn" image, and some of images seem to be deliberately provacative to muslims with pictures of naked women in hijab or vaginas that have been sown closed. So if you're offended or easily "incited to evil thoughts" or whatever, maybe you should stay away. Site here.
