As Salaamu Alaykum
I decided to start this up because it's like anything else....You will most likely not agree with me, and that's peace. I'm the kind of guy who thinks the "fundamentalists" and the "progressives" as a whole are both full of shit. Strangely, though, each side seems to see me as belonging to the other. Proggies seem to consider me an insensitive, backwards trogladyte. Fundies compare me to such unlikely (and disparate) figures as Michael Knight and Irshad Manji. It's something of a repeat of my political standing; leftists look at me like a horrible facist redneck, and through a right wing lense I'm the illegitamite son of Che Guevara and jane Fonda.
So I'm just gonna write about Islam, mainly for myself. I remember a punk rock record I used to have that said "I'm talking here to me alone", can't remember who it was, but it's an appropriate message. You can argue, agree, engage me in conversation, and that's all cool, but ultimately Im'a just keep writing.
DA

This is hilarious. I don't even really know you, but I was reading the first paragraph as it appears before you can read the rest, and I'm like, this sounds like DA. I bet it's him. And lo and behold . . . I think it was the use of "peace," "trogladyte," "disparate," and "redneck" all in the same paragraph that can only come from the cornacopic and complex identity that is DA. Always slightly self-depricating, yet always appearing slightly more read than you might be. Introducing . . . DA. Nice to have you.
Shit dude....I really am getting Sean hannity syndrome. Using the same phrases all the time. I gotta check that. next thing you know I'll be calling Alan colmes a Stalinist....
Hysterical man, you did it! I await every post! Write it!
Cool - looking forward to more. It's R.E.M - that's who sings it.

the word trogladyte reminded me of one film starring ryan phillippe and salma hayek
