Huzzah! Progress in the ME

Today on Muslim Wakeup!, Henri Piccioto sounds the clarion call of Jewish dissent regarding the conflict in Lebanon. "There is a saying ``two Jews, three opinions.'' Now we are told ``1 million Jews, one opinion.'' Don't put words in this man's mouth; he's not taking it. Kudos, Mr. Piccioto.

Also, is there a truce on the horizon?

Kudos for sure! we should

Kudos for sure! we should also pay heed to the refusniks, to Israeli dissenters like Uri Averny. this isn’t about ethnic or religious affiliation but universal ethical principles. as of today Lebanon has been declared an open country of civil resitance. Mark Le Vine is trying to resurrect a ship that will go to Haifa and then Lebanon.this is not about religious or ethnic affiliation but about universal ethical principles and the preservation of human rights. Henri Piccioti is an important voice because he has memories of a cosmopolitan place where the three faiths lived. that too is at stake. that too is being threatened. I think a lot of people are fighting for this. Kudos to Muslimwakeup for posting this!!!!

there are more people who

there are more people who are sickened by by what has happened to Lebanon. here is a poem published in washingtopnpost.com, blog: can Asia survive conflict int eh middle east. I liked it; hope readers do like it too.

Oh Lebanon

Oh Lebanon,
Your glorious cities,
And beautiful lands,
So recently disfiguered.
Rebuilt and reborn.
Alas, now forsaken.
Protected by strangers-
Bombed by a neighbor.

Where is the justice?
What price shall you pay?
Your people live-dying
By night, and by day.
Those children in Cana-
What sin did they make?
Hunched together, frightened-
Bombs blew them away.

And so, we sit watching
Day, after day.
So many great countries,
Yet no one says “Nay”.

Alas, yet forsaken.
Help Lebanon today.
Where innocent are dying-
Say not “delay”.

Oh Lebanon-
Where is your justice?
Has the world turned away?

May God grant you Mercy
Oh, Lebanon we Pray.
At what cost a peace,
With nowhere to stay?

It might be time to

It might be time to decide.

Are the Lebanese victims or victors?

They can’t be both.
