Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison named Vice Chair of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Equality Caucus

From Rep. Ellison's website:

He has just been named a Vice-Chair of the newly-formed Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus. For someone like Keith, who has spent his entire adult life fighting for human and civil rights, helping to kick-off the LGBT Equality Caucus was an especially proud moment.

Keith’s work in Congress and his re-election campaign are built around the politics of generosity and inclusion. He is hosting a campaign forum on GLBTQ political engagement. He wants to hear the broadest possible spectrum of views from the GLBTQ community – regardless of orientation, identity, or economic situation. He wants to draw out advice from the community – newcomers, grassroots leaders, and everyone in between – on how we can better work together to secure equal rights for everybody. And he wants to invite the community in to his campaign to help turn out 20,000 new voters in November to ensure that Minnesota is thoroughly Blue (Democratic).
