It will be a gathering of 100 distinguished women to share best practices, network, and God willing, create an advisory council of Muslim women to express women-centered concerns to global political and religious leaders. I like that they have made an effort to include women from different religious and political perspectives. God willing it will be diverse like the umma is diverse and represent the best of what we all have to offer.

WISE is focusing on long term goals, but the community also needs to keep its eye on the here and now.

Dear Prospective Supporter;

Sister’s Nurturing Sisters (SNS) is a Muslim non-profit organization, which came into existence November 2, 1999 out of the concern for Muslim women with children who are not provided holistic services according to Islamic etiquette, as well as a concern for the general population of at-risk women with children. The organization provides benevolent, charitable and educational services to homeless women with children; focusing on women recovering from substance abuse to assist them in becoming self-supporting and self-sufficient.

Sister’s Nurturing Sisters provides viable referrals to supportive and low-income housing, job training, skill building, GED and literacy programs, food pantry, substance abuse treatment, domestic violence shelters, parenting classes, individual and family counseling, as well as assists in completing documents and obtaining employment. Sister’s Nurturing Sisters is seeking to provide care packets, assist with purchasing identifications (birth certificate; State ID) and food baskets for women and families until an income is established.

Sister’s Nurturing Sisters plans are to provide transitional housing to include the above-mentioned services, on site.

SNS is asking for a one-time financial donation of $25 or whatever you can give, which will help us in the application process for 501©3 tax-exempt status. SNS will provide you with the exempt number once we receive it for tax write-off purposes along with acknowledgement of your support.
