What a great article. I
What a great article. I noted his correct and contextual use of the word 'pilloried'. I had never heard this particular sentiment uttered so cohesively before: what is best for the Ummah is not neccesarily what is best for Islam. This should be shouted from the rooftops.
One of the biggest issues
One of the biggest issues (or may be the only issue) facing an islamophobe is to figure out who is a jihadi and who is a peace-loving muslim. And the stuff happening in muslim world doesn’t make this task any easier. Take Shia-Sunni divide as an example. What should a Hindu like me think of this intolerance? If muslims can’t live in peace with other muslims, what hope is there for other religions? I live in India and muslims are an integral part of Indian society. I personally have good friends among muslims but on a large scale, the situation does make one frightful.
Thanks for pointing that
